The Ballad of the Screen Berets

It's funny how and when inspiration can hit you. After dispatching a faux liberal drooler who claimed to have been in the 82nd Airborne (while completely missing the question of when the 82nd actually came into existence), I got to thinking about what motivates those who sit in chatrooms and lie about being in the military. These "screen berets" have become more and more prevalent as the War in Iraq has gone on. More often than not, they're faux liberals trying to pull rank on those of us who support the war effort but did not serve in the military.

So to honor their "service" to this country, I offer the following song, "The Ballad of the Screen Berets" [with all apologies to Robin Moore and SSgt. Barry Sadler, the writers of "The Ballad of the Green Berets."]

Fighting soldiers from the sky
(That's if you believe their lies)
Men who claim to be what they say
But they are just Screen Berets

Chicken wing sauce on their chests
Covering their big man-breasts
One lying man will test today
If folks believe the Screen Beret

Trained to live off Mom and Dad
A paying job not to be had
Men who lie, both night and day
Telling tales of the Screen Berets

Chicken wing sauce on their chests
Covering their big man-breasts
One lying man will test today
If folks believe the Screen Beret

Spouting lies, giving not an inch
In their praise of Kucinich
Hoping for Innaugural Day
When the Dems will praise the Screen Berets

Chicken wing sauce on their chests
Covering their big man-breasts
Afraid of folks who will all day
Expose the lies of the Screen Berets.

Did YOU write that? I loved Sadler's song when it was a #1 hit. I'd love to hear your re-recording... The perfect ballad for sagging hippies and moonbats...

Yes I did. I wish I had the singing voice to record it, though. :-)

"Chicken wing sauce on their chests

I think it's funny when a morbidly obese guy makes fun of other fat guys.

Thanks for the chuckles!

Still stinging from the fact that only the faux liberal droolers agreed with your gross misreading of the Constitution, One? :-)

I just love watching you blow your top and having so many people tell you that you're wrong. LOL

Writing Posts...from his cubicle
With an attitude of a pre-pubic-al
Little girl who's prone to whine
And he calls it...The Bottom Line

Borrowed ideas with lousy jokes
He steps up to swing and he chokes
For choke he must - it is his fate
As he was born....in-ad-equate

Sometimes he embarks on his own thoughts
That show all he's reading...are Ink Blots
The Doctor says...he'll be just fine
Grant him his delusions about The Bottom Line

Wannabe Pundits you must take heed
Before you type another screed
Thinking you cast pearls before the swine
It's just the delusion of The Bottom Line

He puffs himself up with proclamation
Then panders like a child for affirmation
Ignoring it's an emotionally revealing sign
That he is insecure...and that's the Bottom Line.

Now, the refrain....sing along one more time!

Borrowed ideas with lousy jokes
He steps up to swing and he chokes
For choke he must - it is his fate
As he was born....in-ad-equate

Awwwwwwwwwww... Still mad at me for being right about your idiotic interpretation of the Constitution being busted by so many people, huh, One? :-)

By the way, I'll make sure to let the Podites know that you're posting to my blog again, something you swear up and down in there that you DON'T do! LOL

And if it wasn't bad enough that you're forced doing lame parodies on the blog of someone you obviously cannot beat in any forum, I'm actually getting POSITIVE comments about "The Ballad of the Screen Berets" from military folks and the general public. Here's a comment posted word for word for you to chew on, One. :-)

" You seemed to have gotten the nail on the head with this one and the people it replicates...

I love the original song btw... it was one of a the best that came out for that era...

Thanks for the laugh.."

See? Unlike you, a failed hack writer with delusions of great writing talent, I get praised for my work.

And you say I choke? ROFLMAO

Ace... finally got caught up here and glad I did. To pretend to be a Soldier imo is the true sign of desperation... and there is one Party in particular who has a proclivity towards this behavior... I like to stand back and let them "show" us Who and What they are. and then... Believe Them and act accordingly. That goes for both parties, so lets not "Get Fooled Again"

Try not to be such an obviously leftist and attack the issue not the PERSON. How typical. Good work, Tom. History has shown you (and us) correct and will always do so as FACT trumps emotion and hate.
